Loosing my Virginity

Loosing my blogging virginity with this post, my first ever blog post. What else kind of virginity were you thinking about, you pervert!
On a more serious note, you might be curious about who I am, what I do and why am I blogging?
I am not 100% sure about the answers for the above questions myself.

Who am I?

The name that my parents chose for me at birth was Apoorva.
Now, why did they choose this name and not something more exotic sounding or complex, like Nitara (Akshay Kumar's daughter) or Nysa (Kajol's daughter) or Akira (Farhan Akhtar's daughter) as is the trend nowadays, I honestly cannot answer.
It was definitely not due to astrology (something common for us Indians); my name is not astrologically correct, maybe that is why all the bad things happen in my life. Perhaps if my parents had consulted Nirmal Baba or Haddi Baba or Asaram Bapu before naming me, my life would have been much more fruitful, just like theirs is. Jai Nirmal Baba!!*

There are many other facets of my identity, apart from my name. I am an Indian, a young woman, middle-class, a book worm, shy and introvert, agnostic, a college fresher, a student of law.
I have not yet asked the above question in the sense a spiritual person would, I feel I am too young too get into any spiritual or metaphysical stuff. Maybe the next few years will enable me to answer this question better.

What do I do?

I sleep. And dream, just like you.
I eat and drink, like any other person. I read. A lot, really like a lot. I watch movies and TV series. I swear by Game of Thrones and Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings and Sherlock Holmes. I love travelling and music and art and history and lots of other stuff.

Maybe in five years time my answer will be really different for the above question, from what it is now. As someone, said only change is constant.

Why am I blogging?

Because I think every human being has something beautiful to share. Maybe everything I share won't be worth sharing, but maybe some of it will be. No matter what, we should never stop trying. Only if we try can we succeed.
If you have ever found joy in little things, this blog is for you. If you have ever experienced disappointment in life, this blog is for you. If you think life can be adventurous or mysterious or burdensome, this blog is for you.
With this blog, I hope to find something marvellous in myself and in others, where ever they be or who ever they are.

About the blog's name

There is an idiom in English, "when pigs fly" used to refer to something that is impossible or highly unlikely. But pigs do fly: in planes, in movies, in books and in our imagination. I would like to believe that nothing is impossible, if you have a good combination of talent and hard work and a little bit of luck.

Good luck my friends! And may a very happy new year lie ahead of you.
